For over a decade, PetroLocate founder Ervin Kraemer has been advancing the development of seismoelectric exploration technology, transforming the original groundwater-focused systems into today’s powerful PL24 platform for oil, gas, and geothermal detection. With successful surveys conducted spanning five countries and three continents, PetroLocate has supported energy exploration projects worldwide and built a trusted network of trained operators and partners through its hands-on training and expert consulting programs.

The PL24 Seismoelectric Exploration System
The PL24 Seismoelectric Exploration System is engineered to detect and image mobile resistive liquids — including oil, natural gas, and fresh water — beneath layers of rock, sediment, and soil. By transmitting a controlled seismic pulse, the PL24 captures the unique electrokinetic response generated at subsurface boundaries, delivering deep, high-resolution insights for confident exploration.

Mapping Capabilities
Leveraging PL24 survey data, we generate detailed subsurface maps and profiles that reveal hydrocarbon zones, fluid movement, porosity variations, and permeability contrasts. This enhances the accuracy of resource targeting and reduces the risk of drilling unproductive wells.
Depth and Yield
Engineered for deep exploration, the PL24 is capable of detecting resistive liquid zones — including oil, gas, and fresh water — at depths of up to 3,000 meters (nearly 10K feet).
